    How to Feel Happy

When you are feeling a little sad there is always a way to pick yourself up and pick a big smile on your face. First thing first, don’t ever put food into your mouth to feel happy. You don’t want the weight. I have been there and done that. I’m telling you the truth. Don’t do it. But every-so-often a cup of ice cream is good for the soul and I stand by that. But don’t eat it every day. Now since I have gotten that out of the way, let me tell you how I make myself feel better. For the past couple of nights, I have watched YouTube…

If You Can’t Say it, then Record it!

I never realized how important YouTube is to my writing until I started recording again. I record what I think and then write it in a simplified way. I had started YouTube, stopped and then started again. Finally, I’m on track I find it relaxing to be able to just say what I want without having to think too hard about it. Yes, as a writer I think really think hard about what I what to convey to my readers. Sometimes, I can’t write it, I just need to say it. I’m not camera shy. I have never been one to hide my face, there is no reason to. I…

    Merry Christmas!

I hope that all your worries and fears are gone, even just for this day. People say that Christmas is magical (at least in movies.) I want to believe that. I want to believe that everyone can be joyful on this day even if the worse has happened in the past. I’m spending time with my family and we are having a fabulous time. A family doesn’t have to be mom and dad, it can be friends. Surround yourself with people who love you and support you. Remember that happiness comes from happenings, so be joyful, be joyful that you woke up and experienced this day. I hope you have…

I Have the Best Lil Bro in the World

I love having a little brother. He is the best dude in the world. He is one of my many rocks. I have three altogether. My brother Devin is a very chill person. He doesn’t say much and observes everything. He has an opinion and when you need it he gives it to you. His opinion is always honest and helpful. He makes a lot of jokes, but he is a teenager, so I can only expect so much. What I like most about him is that he listens. He tells me the truth and gives me advice as though he is my older brother. He is taller than me,…

    No Anxiety Medicine

Since my dose on my anti-depressant was upped I have no need for my anxiety medicine as much. I used to take it twice a day but now I’m down to one. It’s feels great. You all know I don’t like taking my meds. I don’t like taking medicine period. I also don’t like the way it tastes. But since I see the results I feel better about it. Before I was too reliant on my anxiety medicine to the point I couldn’t go without it. It makes me sleepy, so when I want to get some rest I use it to knock me out. It’s like Benadryl for me.

    A Little Wine Is Okay

I drink sometimes. I just have a glass of wine or some margarita mix. I never drink too much to get wasted. I never want that feeling and I’ve heard it’s horrible. I try to drink when I feel fine and have a healthy state of mind. I never drink when I’m upset. I love Moscato. It’s my favorite wine. I enjoy that with some popcorn and then I have it, the perfect tv night.

    TV Is Good For You

TV can be nostalgic and nostalgia can help people feel good and calm. I recently saw a Shirley Temple DVD commercial that put me in a great mood. I remember watching it all the time when I was a kid and I used to sing along just as I did when I saw it again. Most of the time I watch old tv shows. Before the huge controvesary, The Cosby Show was one of my favorites. I loved that family and they still hold a dear place in my heart. The show would come on at Nick @ Nite and they would play a few episodes. I would watch it…

    Writing Is Therapeutic

I gained the nickname “Writer Chick” from my mom because I write so much. I have a passion for it the same way some men do about football; in translation, I take it seriously. There has never been a time when I wasn’t writing something down. Expressing myself in words make me feel at ease. Anyone can understand me on the page if the did understand me when I speak. One thing I tried to do is to keep a journal, this was always an epic fail for me. I could never write down my day every day. I could, however, write down significant events, or strong feelings I couldn’t…

Ice Cream Is Good For The Soul

If you haven’t noticed, I post about ice cream a lot on Instagram, that’s because I love it. Ice cream makes me happy when I’m sad. To be frank it is good all year around. If I had it my way ice cream would be a health food. Certain flavors don’t even have that much sugar. I’m also counting popsicles as ice cream too. It’s literally frozen juice and I love juice. I recently fell completely in love with ice cream when I went to this place that had the most unique flavors. You might have heard of it, it’s called Jeni’s. They have the best ice cream. Every time…

Routines Are Good For the Soul

Routines are things we can control. People have nightly routines and morning routines and even daily routines. I like to stick to my routines because it feels like I am accomplishing something. I give myself mental check marks in my head. If I can’t get things done I feel unaccomplished. There is no better way to soothe your anxiety than to have a routine. If you want to start a routine start off with something simple. Do something like washing your face and brushing your teeth at night right before you go to bed. You can even do a cleaning routine. But your routines don’t have to be daily. You…
