    The Job Hunt Begins

After graduating college, my parents allowed me to take some time off before I jumped into the work force. During this time I created my blog and found some interesting things to blog about, but image what I could write about at my future job! But here’s the thing, I don’t have a job yet, and looking for a job is a job within itself. There are hundreds of jobs and they all sound nice, but there is always a catch. That’s what I hate about searching, sometimes things are too good to be true. After reading the reviews of some of these places, there were either scams or not…

    Stressed? Play Video Games!

I have already talked about how videos games can help relieve stress. So why am I mentioning it again? Well because it’s true. When I’m stressed I grab my phone and play my favorite games for an hour or so. It’s relaxing because I focus on my game and forget everyone and everything else. That is possible. Sometimes we need to clear our mind and what better way than to put your focus on something else. Most of the time I play on my mobile apps. I’ll play Linda Brown: Interactive Story, Homescapes, The Simpsons Tapped Out, Kingdom Hearts Union X, and Solitaire Tri Peaks. It’s a lot of games…

    Popcorn Love

My family loves popcorn. So much that we keep it in stock at the house. My dad will sometimes go to the movie theater to buy their popcorn. It tastes good and I didn’t know that you could buy movie theater popcorn without a ticket buy anyway. My dad eats popcorn every day, my younger brother, Devin, used too before braces and my mom and I make our popcorn. Frankly, I don’t think we could live without it. But I realized something about my family. Popcorn is more than our favorite snack it’s also a gift. For me, it’s how I say I’m sorry. Sounds weird. I make people popcorn…

Jesus Let Me Break My Fast

So I prayed to have Christian friends and my prayer was answered. I was more than happy to have the company of warm and friendly people. I think everyone needs friends. Since my mom was doing the Daniel Fast and I epically failed after one day (look it was hard!) I decided to fast something else for twenty-one days: eating out, sweet drinks, and alcohol. This was easier than the Daniel Fast but not by much. I love Coke! I was determined to do this. I had fasted fast food for twenty-five days. But this fast was very different. I really carved everything I couldn’t have. After a couple of…

    Trying Small Groups Again

I have been going to my church for almost two years. I have interacted with some people, but I’m not, sure enough, people know my name. I wanted to be the person that people knew, but I had to interact with people. I really didn’t know how to do that. I would have to go to events, but even then I didn’t know who to hang out with. The people I knew were already in cliques. It was the problem that everyone faces when in a social gathering. The best way is to just try to hang out with people, but it just seemed weird. So my church gave the…

    A Letter to Dee

Names have been changed for privacy reasons. Dear Dee, I sometimes wonder how you are. I haven’t seen you since our high school graduation. You were always so gloomy and your mind adrift. I never thought about how you felt. I never cared until now. I treated you bad because I was annoyed that you always had problems in your life. I had never meant someone with so many issues. I remembered I told you “there is always something wrong with you.” I’m sorry for saying that. That was mean and uncalled for. You needed someone to listen and I didn’t want to. Kia listened to you, but she also…

    Night Showers Soothe My OCD

When I wake up in the morning, the last thing on my mind is taking a shower. My eyes are still heavy with sleep and my mind is foggy, so showering is not something I want to do. If I shower in the morning I’m likely trying to wake up and that’ll take a while. If I have to go somewhere early I either have to wake up earlier or rush to bathe. I like to be clean so rushing to shower ain’t happening. So I don’t have to rush in the morning I take my time showering at night. I can stay in the shower as long as I…

  • A Day in the Life,  Things I Like

    Merry Christmas!

I hope that all your worries and fears are gone, even just for this day. People say that Christmas is magical (at least in movies.) I want to believe that. I want to believe that everyone can be joyful on this day even if the worse has happened in the past. I’m spending time with my family and we are having a fabulous time. A family doesn’t have to be mom and dad, it can be friends. Surround yourself with people who love you and support you. Remember that happiness comes from happenings, so be joyful, be joyful that you woke up and experienced this day. I hope you have…

Christmas Trees Go Up Before December

If you are one of the late people placing their trees up around this time you are probably stressing. There is barely anything to put onto your tree except those plastic balls that are about fifteen dollars for a pack of thirty. They are cute, but not that cute. If you find a decoration you like, it’s only one of them. I would suggest something for the future. Decorate your tree before Thanks Giving. It will make it so much easier for you to enjoy your holiday. I mean you can be super early like me and decorate in October, but that’s only if you have like seven trees. But…

    Destress During Christmas

Christmas is supposed to be a joyous time, so stress should not be in your vocabulary.  If you are anything like me, you are thinking about everything you would want to do before the holiday is over. I like to see lights and go to shows and stuff. All this contributes to my OCD. I feel I must do everything to make Christmas special. Here’s the thing, Christmas will be special without all the activities we do, they are a bonus. If you are stressing on how to make Christmas special, stop. Spend time with those who matter and try to make the best memories. Try to make memorable memories…
