Things I Like

TV Is Good For You

TV can be nostalgic and nostalgia can help people feel good and calm. I recently saw a Shirley Temple DVD commercial that put me in a great mood. I remember watching it all the time when I was a kid and I used to sing along just as I did when I saw it again.

Most of the time I watch old tv shows. Before the huge controvesary, The Cosby Show was one of my favorites. I loved that family and they still hold a dear place in my heart. The show would come on at Nick @ Nite and they would play a few episodes. I would watch it when I couldn’t sleep at night. The show made me happy.

TV should make you feel good. To me, if TV makes you feel depressed, don’t watch it. Shows that make me feel upset or scared I avoid. Now you can watch what you want, but I avoid 13 Reasons Why for a reason.

I like to watch funny stuff, like Futurama and American Dad. They are comedies and comedies are supposed to make you feel good. When you get a real laugh or a real smile, TV has done something right.

That’s why The Golden Girls is so great. It really puts a smile on my face.

I am a personal blogger! I love to write and I love cookies and cake. And cheesecake. I love talking about my experiences in life. I like to write fiction and invent different worlds in my head. I enjoy watching movies, but I'm not a horror fan. I like watching Disney movies and hope to one day create a Disney Princess.

    Confession.

I never watched Golden Girls when it was on TV way back when. I was way too damn young. So I I heard about it on a podcast the other day and I was like, ‘Okay, I wanna see what all of this is about.’ I started watching it and it really took me decades back. Time travel is real. And the weirdest thing was how good the writing is. Like I’m sitting here watching these ladies thinking, this is series is sharp.

So thanks for the post, it really is so true! Nostalgia mixed with inspiration and appreciation! ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

I’m been watching Golden Girls for a little while now. I remember hearing about it a lot and never knew where to watch it, finaly I found it on Hallmark. It is one of the best shows of it’s time!

I agree with you. If what youโ€™re watching is depressing, turn it off. TV is not all bad, you just have to be watching the right things and sometimes you can actually learn something. I remember my mom and grandmother watching Golden Girls in the late 80โ€™s and early 90โ€™s. Thanks for sharing.
